47th AICARR INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
October 8th and 9th , 2009 – Tivoli, Rome

The Conference “Systems, Energy and Built Environment – Toward a Sustainable Comfort” has been organized by Aicarr under the patronage and cultural co-operation of three associations of the highest worldwide prestige: ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers), IIF/IIR (International Institute of Refrigeration) and REHVA (European Federation of HVAC Engineers Associations).The event, which is addressing a wide and varied audience, provides a true occasion of open meetings and discussions for all professionals involved in the design, construction, management and maintenance of sustainable high-performance buildings. Two Plenary Sessions are programmed on the morning of 8th and 9th October with the participation of key speakers renowned in the fields of energy, architecture and engineering. The energy problem in the construction sector, sustainability and energy efficiency with particular emphasis to the LEED protocol, energy qualification and re-qualification of the built environment, district heating and cooling, are only few of the many interesting themes that will be elaborated by distinguished authors. The plenary sessions will be flanked by an intense program of Parallel Technical Sessions with presentation of both invited and free papers – an additional opportunity to illustrate various system solutions, equipment and components of advanced technology, high class case studies, to an audience of qualified operators.
The Conference will be held in a pleasant and relaxing venue, ideal also for attendees’ companions; a special program has been particularly studied for them including guided sightseeing in Tivoli and surroundings.

A PRE-CONFERENCE DAY
Meetings with ASHRAE, IIF/IIR, REHVA
October 7th, 2009 – Tivoli, Rome

On October 7th a pre-conference day will be held in the same venue. It will be a day of interesting cultural events with the contribution, along with AICARR, of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers), IIF/IIR (International Institute of Refrigeration) and REHVA (European Federation of HVAC Engineers Associations).
Prominent event of the day is the Seminar, organized by Aicarr with the participation of ASRAE, IIF/IIR and REHVA on the theme “ Improvement of Building Energy Efficiency”.
Other lateral events are the Course “A Designer’s Introduction to Commercial Desiccant Dehumidification Systems” organized by Ashrae Learning Institute, the inaugural ceremony of the AICARR-ASHRAE CLUB and the presentation of the Ashrae Certification Programs for HVAC Professionals.
Due to the active participation of international personalities, the entire program will be held in English.
