IT: Materiali impermeabilizzanti e termoisolanti per l'involucro edilizio: un binomio

The volume is the very first book in which all of the aspects concerning thermal insulation and waterproofing are discussed in a scientific and rational perspective, though concisely.

The volume itself is divided into three distinct sections: waterproofing materials, insulation materials and applications. The first two sections, symmetrically, report on the materials classification, CE marking informations, and general aspects on their sustainability; then for each item the production process, its technical features, commercially available products and its energetic and sustainability figures are presented. The third part contains the illustration and stratigrafy of the most common layers structures used in the building opaque envelope construction process, with the specification of the products chosen to maintain the compatibility among the materials; this aspect of the design phase, though it should be considered as established, is unfortunately little known, if not entirely new. The appendixes hold clarifications and insights on many aspects of the main text, from the outside thermal coating and the ventilated façade down to the evaluation of thermal conductivity figures and the CE marking of thermal insulation materials. Finally a glossary allows to deepen into the meaning of the terminology.
