Currently in Europe the time spent in indoor environment is approximately 90%: this implies that the environmental quality of the indoor spaces has a significant influence on the health, productivity and psycho-physical well-being of the occupants.
Designing the indoor environmental quality requires an integrated and multidisciplinary approach that involves different skills and concerns aspects related to the thermohygrometric, acoustic, visual and air quality areas.
The central role of IEQ design topic, which is the subject of this seminar, is of utmost importance nowadays. In European legislation on energy efficiency, health, comfort and environmental quality play a decisive role. Professional firms and the market are increasingly adopting models based on human-centered design with specific certification protocols. Internationally, there is the IEQ Global Alliance, in which AiCARR participates, aimed at improving co-operation between associations that have indoor environmental quality as a common mission.
The seminar, with the participation of ASHRAE and REHVA, will provide an overall and updated framework on the ongoing process related to the design of indoor environmental quality.
